  Why is the act of stopping meeting attendance so significant?

  one aspect of the leaving jw process has long puzzled me why can a fading jw become mentally disinterested , miss loads of meetings , become irregular in the ministry , perhaps even become involved in minor worldly conduct without too much concern from relatives or the elders over a period of years , even decades.

  yet as soon as they make it become known that they are not going to the meetings anymore, all hell breaks loose.

  elders dust down their od books and come calling on shepherding visits , perhaps for the first time for many years.

  Good question. I wish I had something profound to say in response. What I believe is at work is eyes opening completely to what they have been closing their eyes to. It has been a long time coming and maybe if we ignore it things will not be so grave. Then poof, you say it and their nightmare is suddenly real and in their face....

  I have had a USMC KABAR for many years. It is durable and sharp. A carbon steel blade is good for resharpening and olds a fine edge gfor a long time. And you can get one for around $50

  We all have to be born into something. At least you and I have seen the cult for what it is and are making tracks away from it. I feel bad for the poor saps around the globe who live their life and die in their own dung because they are blind all their life.

  I thought the geniuses at beth-hell wrote their own translation software back in the 1970's. Seems like small potatoes for them to do a theocratic internet shield of faith. This is probably their own baby in disguise so other people will buy it.

  i am watching the movie "the perfect world", and they have a scene of a jw family eating dinner and then the doorbell rings and the mother answers the door with her kids following behind.

  she opens the door and there are several costumed children saying "trick of treat".

  the jw mother says that they don't participate in such activities.

  We used to hide. Lights off, no talking, no whispering. We just dreaded the DEVIL coming to our door. Taht was when we were little.

  My wife's dad to this very day will take yellow hazard tape and wrap it around the trees in his yard to BAR the path of the Devil to his door.

  this is just one discussion started on kutano recently at watchtower.org.

  kutano is software that allows you to see discussions and comments about a site while you are at that site, even if that site doesn't allow comments.

  maybe this has been covered before but i am wondering if there have been any serious domain name system (dns) or denial of service (dos)attacks or actual hijacking hacks made against the tower's web site.
